KUALA LUMPUR, 29 October 2024 – IDC has announced the winners of the 2024 Future Enterprise Awards (FEA) Malaysia, recognizing exceptional digital transformation (DX) initiatives and leadership that leverage technology to drive business success and foster innovation. This year’s awardees are distinguished for their forward-thinking, technology-driven strategies that are shaping the digital landscape in Malaysia.
The 2024 winners represent various industries, including construction, financial services, and engineering. Categories this year highlight excellence in customer experience, enterprise intelligence, and digital innovation, alongside recognition of leadership excellence with the CIO/CDO of the Year Award, underscoring Malaysia’s progress in advancing digital excellence and sustainable growth.

As global challenges reshape industries, enterprises are driven to adopt sustainable, tech-driven models. Now in its 8th year, the IDC Future Enterprise Awards have honored over 600 winners from 6,000+ nominations, recognizing digital-first pioneers from 3,000 organizations across 12 countries who are redefining their industries.
Following a two-phased approach, each nomination is evaluated by IDC analysts, with country winners then qualifying for a regional competition judged by a panel of international experts. The following are the best out of all the nominations received from Malaysia:
Best in Future of Customer Experience | Turner & Townsend Malaysia Sdn Bhd
In an era when agility and efficiency are paramount, Turner & Townsend Malaysia Sdn Bhd initiated a visionary digital transformation program that leverages technology to enhance customer experience and secure a competitive advantage. By establishing a robust governance and assurance framework, the company has achieved consistent delivery and reporting across diverse global property projects. Fueled by building information modelling (BIM) and a cloud-based data environment, the implemented program has revolutionized property design and data management. As a result of the program, there has been a 75% surge in work output and an 18% reduction in delivery time. Furthermore, the innovative delivery model has slashed expenses by 39%, while 3D scanning technology has curtailed travel needs, shrinking our carbon footprint by an estimated 1.85 metric tonnes.
Best in Future of Enterprise Intelligence | Asset Liability Management Project by Alliance Bank
The Asset Liability Management (ALM) initiative has revolutionized the bank’s risk management capabilities, enabling advanced stress-testing of key economic factors, incorporating important behavioral models, and enhancing predictive analytics. This system also strengthens asset liability management with sophisticated reporting and analytical tools to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. The ALM system enhanced the company’s visibility into interest rates and liquidity management, allowing swift responses to macroeconomic changes. This agility enabled Alliance Bank to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks effectively to ensure the institution’s resilience against economic volatility. Furthermore, the system optimized processes by reducing manual interventions and improving enterprise-wide data sharing seamlessly.
Future Enterprise of the Year | Gamuda Excellence Transformation by Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd
The Gamuda Excellence Transformation (GET) program was launched to consolidate the company’s innovative talent and to elevate digital excellence by integrating technology and research and development (R&D) into daily operations, enhancing group value. The program includes four key initiatives namely: Gamuda Digital Operating System (GDOS) that standardizes project systems to drive collaboration in construction and excellence through data; Gamuda Bot Unify, a secure GenAI-bot marketplace for users to build their own bots and engage with institutional knowledge; Gamuda Innovation Hub, a physical hub for its innovation work in which its talents gather to research and operationalize ideas; and Technology Upskilling Series to develop common language around AI, cloud, and data. These initiatives greatly contributed to Gamuda’s record-breaking FY23 performance, with core earnings rising 35% to RM195 million in 1Q24 and a robust construction order book of RM26 billion.
CIO/CDO of the Year | Mohd Suhail Amar Suresh by Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank)
Spearheading Maybank’s M25+ Digital Transformation initiative, Suhail has led the organization through a comprehensive strategy aimed at achieving pervasive digitalization. By restructuring the technology division to mirror the business organization structure, he created a seamless bridge between the two domains, fostering a “one-for-one” relationship across different levels of the organization. This alignment has led to impactful business discussions, stronger relationships, and a heightened focus on customer-centricity, underscoring Suhail’s commitment to collaborative leadership. His advocacy for data democratization and analytics-driven culture has propelled Maybank toward revenue growth and driven significant cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Special Award for Digital Innovation | Gamuda Tunnel Insight by Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd
Over the years, Gamuda has worked on numerous significant tunnel projects, such as the Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel, the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit system, and the Kaohsiung Metropolitan Mass Rapid Transit. To further foster innovation, Gamuda has initiated several programs, leading to groundbreaking developments such as the Autonomous Tunnel Boring Machine. In line with these innovations, Gamuda has developed Tunnel Insight, a single integrated web app platform designed to consolidate multiple data sources and provide tunnellers with actionable insights. Tunnel Insight leverages automation and machine learning to provide predictive and prescriptive analytics, significantly enhancing decision making, project management, and situational awareness. As a result of this initiative, Tunnel Insight has improved productivity by 25% with immense time saving in filling forms and generation of reports.
All country winners qualify for the Asia/Pacific competition, where a panel of judges comprised of IDC worldwide analysts, industry thought leaders, and members of academia will determine the regional winners. These winners will be announced during the IDG Technology Symposium & Awards in Singapore at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre (MBS) on 19 November 2024.
